For lovers of murder mysteries and lovers of urban fantasy, this is the book. I was hooked from the first page (or… screen, since I got it in e-book format) and couldn’t put it down!

Kasey Chase is a forensic pathologist who works for the NYPD. But she is also a witch with the gift of prescience, the ability to see/know things before they happen. We are introduced to the fantasy/magical element right before the murder mystery element of “Dying to Meet You”, and they blend perfectly all throughout the novel. We watch Kasey try to keep what she considers her “curse” separate from her job – in fact, she had run away from that magical past and gotten her degree in forensic pathology – but that gift ends up being a huge part of solving murders. I love the magical histories and connections presented in the story; you could almost really believe it existed.

The murder aspect of the book was intriguing; getting to see the crime scenes from the forensic pathologist’s point of view made solving the mystery that much more fascinating to watch Kasey, her partner Detective Diane Bishop, other members of the NYPD, even the FBI, all work to solve the case. I’ve never seen a murder mystery from this angle before, and I really enjoyed it. We also get quite a surprise when we find out the who/what dunnit! And as the story goes on, we get a peek into Kasey’s magical past that really makes her come alive as a character.

I anxiously await the rest of Kasey’s adventures.

“Dying to Meet You” is available, in e-Book and paperback, on Amazon right now.
